• Ensures all windows and doors are closed and locked.
• Checks for visible signs of water leaks around doors, windows, walls and ceilings.
• Check for signs of leaks in bathroom plumbing and hot water heater.
• Flush toilets and run water in all sinks, tubs and showers.
• Check for visible signs of leaks in kitchen and utility room plumbing.
• Ensure the refrigerator and freezer are cooling properly.
• Close or open burtains and blinds, per owner’s request.
• Check that air conditioning is cooling properly and thermostats and humidistats are set, per owner’s request.
• Check that the circuit breaker is set, per owner’s instructions.
• Check for obvious signs of mold or mildew build-up.
• Note the appearance of insects or rodents.
• Verify that the house cleaning service is performing satisfactorily.
• Garage inspection.
• Check to see if exterior doors, windows, shutters, furniture, cabinets, structures and coverings are secure and/or in place.
• Check for signs of insect or rodent incursion in trash can area.
• Collect leaflets, newspapers and junk mail. 
• Verify that lawn, landscaping and irrigation services are performing satisfactorily.
• Note any damage to house, roof and grounds.
